Potato Mutton Kheema

The minced lamb is Mutton Kheema in Hindi. The meat is minced well to use the same in the recipe written here under. This recipe is prepared with minced lamb, potatoes, onion, tomatoes and a whole lot of spices. This simple and yummy recipe can be enjoyed with plain rice or roti or naan. I often make this recipe as my family loves to savor the same. Here I am sharing my recipe of Potato Mutton Kheema



Time for Preparation : 10 minutes
Time for Cooking : 40 minutes
Serves 4 People

Ingredients for Potato Mutton Kheema

500 grams Mutton Kheema (minced mutton)
4 Potatoes (cubed)
2 big Tomatoes (cubed)
2 big Onions (sliced)
2 Bay leaves
4 Green Chilies
2 Tbsp Ginger Paste
2 Tbsp Garlic Paste
1 Tbsp Coriander Paste
1 Tbsp Cumin Paste
1 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
½ Tsp Turmeric Powder
½ Tsp Red Chili Powder
½ cup Oil
Sufficient water for cooking
Salt to taste

How to make Potato Mutton Kheema

Heat oil in a non sticky pan or a wok and fry the potatoes on medium flame till the potatoes are half cooked.



Now remove the fried potatoes in a separate bowl and keep it aside.



Add the sliced onions and bay leaves into the hot oil and sauté till the onion becomes transparent.



Now add the ginger paste, garlic paste, coriander powder and cumin powder and sauté the masala for few minutes.



Now add the turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt and sauté for 2 more minutes.



Add the garam masala now.



Add the mutton kheema now.



Mix everything and cook for 5 more minutes.



Now add the tomatoes and green chilies and sauté for a while.



Add sufficient water now for the mutton to get cooked. Stir and cover and cook till the water dries up.



Now add the fried potatoes to the kheema.



Stir and cook for 10 minutes more.



Yummy Potato Mutton Kheema is now ready. Serve it hot with rice or roti.
