Sooji Halwa

Halwa is a very delicious sweet recipe. It is prepared in almost all Indian homes during any festival or occasions or even just like that. This yummy dish can be savored with pooris or parathas. It is very simple to prepare and everybody likes to savor it. Here I am sharing my mouth watering recipe of Sooji Halwa.   



Time for Preparation : 5 minutes
Time for Cooking : 15 minutes
Serves 4 People

Ingredients for Sooji Halwa

200 grams Sooji (Semolina)
1 Bay leaf
3 Cardamom pods or pinch of cardamom powder
50 grams Cashew nuts
50 grams Raisins
5 tbsp Sugar
4 cups of Milk
2 Tbsp Ghee

How to make Sooji Halwa

Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a wok.



Now fry the cashew nuts and raisins in the ghee for few minutes on a low flame.



Once the raisins and the nuts are fried remove them from the wok and keep it aside.



Add the sooji to the wok and just roast it for 5 minutes on low flame, keep stirring it.



Now add the Bay leaf.



Add the cardamom powder or cardamom pods and stir for 2 minutes.



Now add the sugar.



Stir and roast for 5 more minutes.



Add the remaining 1 tbsp ghee.



Stir everything for 2 more minutes.



Add the milk now and keep on stirring.



Now add half of the fried cashew nuts and raisins.



Stir everything for couple of minutes.



Yummy Sooji Halwa is now ready. Garnish it with the remaining fried cashew nuts and raisins. Serve it hot.
