Chicken And Potato Curry

Chicken curry can be prepared in various ways, I have added potatoes to this chicken curry of mine. I have made this curry with locally available ingredients at home and trust me it tasted awesome. Infact my entire family liked it. And, this curry can be prepared in quite less time. While making this curry in your kitchen you should use only mustard oil as it affects the taste of the curry. You can also garnish your curry with chopped coriander leaves. You can follow my recipe and make this very delightful Chicken And Potato Curry and relish it with your family.

Ingredients for Chicken And Potato Curry

½ kg Chicken (cut into pieces)
½ kg Potatoes
2 Onions
2 Tomatoes
1 inch Ginger
½ cup Mustard Oil
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Red Chili Powder
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
1 cup Water

How to make Chicken And Potato Curry

To make this delicious Chicken And Potato Curry we first need to prepare the ingredients, peel the potatoes and now cut them all. Cut each potato into four pieces. Slice the onions and peel the ginger too and keep everything ready aside.

Now we are going to start the process of cooking, so we will heat the mustard oil in the kadhai or in a deep pan.

First we are going to fry the potatoes little bit on a high flame for near about 5 to 7 minutes. This is done to enhance the look of the recipe

Once the potatoes are fried remove it from the pan and keep it in a separate bowl.

Now we are going to fry the sliced onions and the ginger for 2 minutes, this is just to remove the raw taste of the onions.

Now it is time to start cooking the chicken so add them to the pan.

Saute the chicken pieces and the onions together into the oil and fry them well.

Now chop the tomatoes and add them to the chicken pan.

Add the spices now, the cumin powder, the coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt as per your taste.

Stir everything and keep frying it in the oil till the raw smell of the spices leaves.

Now add the fried potatoes into the recipe and stir till it is well coated with the spices.

Add the water now to the recipe and cover and cook till the potatoes are well cooked.

Once the potatoes and the chicken are cooked remove the lid and let the water simmer for 5 more minutes.

Now our flavoursome Chicken And Potato Curry is ready. Transfer it to the serving bowl and serve the same to your loved ones.
