Matar Chicken

Matar Chicken is a flavourful Chicken Recipe.

Matar means Green Peas in hindi, in this recipe I have combined the chicken with green peas and cooked it in a very simple way. This preparation is prepared with hardly any spices yet it gives a treat to our taste buds. Tangy taste of the tomatoes enhances the taste of this recipe and makes it more delightful. This dry chicken dish can be savoured with rice or roti. See here the yummy recipe of Matar Chicken.

See here how to prepare for making Matar Chicken

First we will wash the chicken properly and then cut it into medium size pieces.

Wash the green peas too and keep it ready for cooking.

Slice the onions and also peel the ginger and keep them aside.

Cut the tomatoes and keep them ready.

Now we are going to start cooking so heat the oil in a kadhai.

Put the sliced onion and the ginger piece into the hot oil and stir till the onions become transparent.

Now add the chicken into the kadhai and stir.

At this moment water will come out from the chicken. Keep stirring the chicken till the water dries up and the colour of the chicken changes.

Now add the tomatoes and stir the recipe.

Tomatoes will start leaving water so keep on stirring.

Add 2 cups of water, this is required because the chicken needs to get cooked properly.

Now add the green peas to the recipe.

Add salt and red chili powder according to your taste.

Add the green chilies. I have added the whole green chilies, you can chop them and add.

Now let it boil. Do not cover and cook this recipe as the water needs to dry up.

Once the water dries up, stir the recipe for 5 more minutes.

Our flavourful Matar Chicken is now ready, garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot.
